Wednesday August 21, 2024 – Excursion Day

As at every congress, Wednesday was Excursion Day. 18-conference attendees went to San Antonio to explore the local tourist mall followed by a fantastic multi-course Mexican meal (chips and salsa, taquitos, tamales, burritos, sopapillas and other goodies). In order to digest the meal, we went on a walk along the San Antonio RiverWalk to the Alamo, which is a historic site of significance for Texans. Despite temperatures of 109-degree F (43-degree Celsius), we managed to have a good time with many conversations. The day was rounded out with a visit to a bat cave whose 10-15 million bats all leave the cave after sunset. Overall, it was an exciting, fun-filled excursion day and I am looking forward to the next one.
